A Court of Thorn & Roses book 1
Book hangover starts…now!
Next time I don’t pick up a Sarah J. Maas book immediately, you have my permission to hit me.
When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
I will say this this took me a little while to get into but this is classic Maas so of course it was brilliant.
There is superb world building and all the characters are incredibly well rounded. I can definitely feel the Beauty and the Beast vibe but I’m really thankful that it didn’t overshadow the story as a whole.
Feyre (best name!) is a strong and sassy wildflower who brings such colour to the story. Her chemistry with Tamlin is electric but it was her interactions with Rhys and Lucien that I found to be really interesting…can’t wait to see how they evolve in the next book.
Speaking of, can it be May 2016 already?!
