I saw this tag over on My Little Book Blog and thought I’d snap it up and give it a go. If you aren’t following Lizzy, be sure to head over now and check out her blog because it is fantastic.
So, let’s get onto those secrets then.
How long have you been a blogger?
My stats say I started my blog back in March 2016 however I wouldn’t say that is entirely true. When I first decided to make That Wild Soul, I did a massive review info dump while I tried to figure myself out. I would say I properly started blogging and engaging with you lovely people around May of this year.
At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?
When I don’t enjoy it anymore…whenever that may be. Right now I’m still really enjoying keeping my blog up to date and having a yarn with everyone so until that stops being fun (or life just goes nuts), I’ll still be here, typing away.
What is the best thing about blogging?
Getting to chat to other book lovers and hear different opinions. One of the things I enjoy most is when I post a review on a book I may not have enjoyed too much and receive a bunch of comments about why other people loved it. I think it’s cool to be able to have an open discussion about books, movies, life and everything in between smart and witty people such as yourself.
What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it OK?
When you can’t think of anything to write about. I haven’t had a chance to read as many books as I’d like to recently so the reviews aren’t rolling in but as I love updating this baby, coming up with things to write about can sometimes be a struggle. To combat this, I make little lists of topics or books I’d like to write about and make something up to fit these. For filler posts, I scroll around the web to find book tags that look like fun.
How long does it take you to make/find pictures to use?
No time at all. All my header images I made on Canva a rather long time ago so I just reuse them. If I decide to use a gif, I do a quick Google and find one I like (takes about a minute). Book reviews are just made using book covers so you know, that is pretty easy.
Who is your book crush?
Every guy ever written. Haha. At the moment, it is Rhysand because he is a sweet, magical, dope High lord that I need in my life.
What author would you like to have on your blog?
Sarah J. Maas or Jodi Picoult – didn’t even need to think twice about that. I think I would freeze in terror if I ever had to interview them or ask them to do anything on my blog.
What do you wear when you write your blog post?
Either whatever I was wearing to work or PJs as I write a lot of my posts on the weekend for the coming week.
How long does it take you to prepare?
Prepare? Ha! Here is what I do. I sit down on an afternoon and I grab the topic and write. It takes less than 20 minutes (unless I get distracted), I read over it very quickly and then I schedule it for a random time on a random day.
How do you feel about the book blogger community?
Love it, love it, love it! I had always watched the book blogger community from afar and I didn’t know just how amazing it would be until I joined in on the fun.
What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?
I don’t know what it takes but I would say it helps to engage with other bloggers and give honest opinions; don’t say you loved a book you didn’t because you are too afraid to be negative.
