[Tag] Sick Book Tag
I am currently battling a cold so thought it would be an appropriate time to complete the sick book tag. Where possible, I am going to pick two books for each question. I originally saw this tag over on A Happy Clam’s blog (great name). Be sure to head over and give the blog a follow.
Diabetes- a book too sweet, like really sweet: I would have to go for a contemporary like To All The Boys I’ve loved Before by Jenny Han or Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson. Both of these are full of all my favourite YA tropes and leave you feeling happy in the end.
Chicken Pox- a book you picked up once but will never pick up again: This would be a toss up between We Were Liars by E. Lockhart or If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I didn’t like these books for so many reasons and would never pick them up again.
Influenza- a contagious book that spreads like a virus: The Darker Shade of Magic series of the Throne of Glass series. Once I picked up book one in each of these series, there was no turning back . I was consumed.
The Cycle- a book you read every month, year, or often: I read The Shadow of the Wind and Persuasion at least once a year. Each time I pick them up I find something new I love about them.
Insomnia- a book that kept you up all night: The Roanoke Girls and Queen of Shadows. Both very different books but both as equally addictive.
Amnesia- a book that’s forgotten and didn’t leave a powerful impression in your memory: Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone and Truthwitch. I for the life of me can’t remember exactly what happened in either of these books. They are basically non events for me.
Asthma- A book that took your breath away: I absolutely loved both the book and movie versions of Never Let Me Go and One Day. Both of these were sad, romantic and beautiful in their own ways.
Travel Sickness- a book that took you on a trip through time and space: The Night Circus and Caraval. Both of these books are similar in a lot of ways and different in so many others but I loved both of these. The worlds were so vivid and I would happily visit them over and over again.
